Entrance Control's Magnetic Direct Drive motor.

The Magnetic Direct Drive motor at the heart of our entrance control solutions

Entrance Control’s industry-leading EasyGate SPT and EasyGate IM speedgates are powered by a unique brushless Magnetic Direct Drive (MDD) motor specially engineered for reliability and silent operation.

Entrance Control General Manager Michael Bystram said extensive investment and product testing had paid off with its MDD motor technology delivering outstanding performance and dependability across different environments.

“What makes our motor exceptional is its completely maintenance-free operation, which provides superior reliability while dramatically reducing the overall cost of ownership.”

The motor’s innovative design makes it remarkably resilient, performing flawlessly in dusty or humid environments, while remaining remarkably quiet during operation, he said.

“The whisper-quiet operation makes our speedgates ideal for noise-sensitive environments like schools, libraries, museums and healthcare facilities where unwanted sounds can be a distraction.”

The motor’s durability is equally impressive, with a mean cycles between failures (MCBF) rating of more than 25 million cycles – making it the perfect choice for high-traffic locations such as office buildings, transit hubs and airports where reliability is paramount.

Beyond durability and silent operation, it offers precise control with adjustable speed and torque settings, ensuring optimal pedestrian flow even during peak periods.

Bystram said Entrance Control’s MDD motor was also versatile enough to operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +60°C, allowing it to power speedgates deployed indoors or outdoors in virtually any climate across the world.

“When organisations invest in entrance control systems, they’re looking for long-term reliability alongside cutting-edge performance and that’s what the motor technology at the heart of our flagship EasyGate models deliver.”
