18 May New sensor technology gives rise to Australasia’s most compact entrance control gate
A new entrance control gate with a tiny footprint has arrived in Australia and New Zealand.
Entrance Control has launched the new EasyGate Compact swing speedgate in Australasia this week, providing fresh opportunities for businesses, building managers and architects to secure their corporate offices without compromising on style.
Entrance Control General Manager Michael Bystram said new sensor technology incorporated into the gates allowed for detection of movement across a greater distance and wider field of view, without the need for point-to-point beams within the lanes themselves.
“Most gates on the market use traditional point-to-point infrared beams, which can only detect movement once a person enters an entrance control gate lane.”
The EasyGate Compact’s Sensira Scope sensors works by sending out pulses of energy across a wide field of vision and detecting any time an object is struck, allowing accurate ‘time-of-flight’ measurement of movement and real time 3D mapping of surroundings.
This approach means long-lanes are no longer required because movement can be sensed more precisely and from further away, as a person approaches the gates.
“It’s a small innovation but one with big implications for building and lobby design because long lanes are no longer needed. It means the physical footprint of this gate to be reduced considerably,” Bystram said.
The pedestals on the EasyGate Compact are just 290mm long – far smaller than many other gates on the market. Available in brushed stainless steel or with a custom powder-coated finish, the gates are an ideal fit for new builds, as well as upgrades to existing offices where space is at a premium or where traditional security gates with longer lanes are not practical.
“We are really excited about the introduction of these new entrance control gates in the Australian and New Zealand market, Bystram said.
“They re-imagine what’s possible for corporate office entranceways and internal security checkpoints by packing advanced security into a small and incredibly powerful package.”
EasyGate Compact boasts LED lights to guide user entry and advanced sensors that can detect climb-over attempts. The new Sensira Scope technology built into the gates is available in two variations – standard Sensira Scope and an AI-enhanced Sensira Scope Ultra variation that can even more accurately detect tailgating, side-by-side entry attempts, and any users who try to move through the gates in the wrong direction – such as entering through exit gates when someone else opens them.
They integrate seamlessly with building management systems and can be fitted with glass wing barriers between 990mm and 1,800mm high, depending on security needs.
