Entry secured at first fully commercial PCYC gym in New South Wales

The Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) in Auburn is the first fully commercial PCYC gym in New South Wales, catering for gym members and fitness groups.

The new fitness club required effective control to streamline gym access for members, groups and casual visitors while deterring unwanted entry.

Bar One gates for casual and group entry and exit were installed at the reception desk. A Bar One Unipod scanner pedestal was also installed to give members express entry, providing an affordable solution that also deters unwanted entry effectively. The gates can be controlled by the receptionist, and a card reader on the Bar One Unipod is linked to the membership system so members can enter with the scan of a card.

Visual and physical deterrents play a prominent role in access. Bar One gates provide a reliable and cost-effective solution for sites that value entrance control.

The gates are wide enough for wheelchair users and make the system compliant under the Disability Discrimination Act. Bar One turnstiles also feature an emergency mode, which rotates the bar to leave the accessway clear for emergency services to enter and facility users to exit in case of an emergency.
