Glass Speedstiles with Stainless Steel Finish

The six-storey National Roads and Motorists’ Association (NRMA) headquarters at Sydney Olympic Park was constructed in 2017. The NRMA Building has a 5 Green Star design rating and achieved a 4.5 Star NABERS energy rating, and accommodates more than 500 staff.

Sydney Olympic Park is a business hub, with more than 140 organisations and over 14,000 workers, students and residents. The challenge was to create a friendly and attractive reception area for NRMA’s new base of operations that also deters unauthorised visitors.

This site required a stylish entrance control solution to suit the building’s unique design specifications. The use of white Corian for cladding complements an inviting entryway for staff and visitors.
– Michael Bystram, General Manager, Centaman Entrance Control.

Centaman Entrance Control worked with architecture firm Davenport Campbell to develop custom EasyGate pedestals, clad in white Corian and finished in stainless steel to match the professional appearance of the desk and other features in the reception area. Three lanes of Easygate BV model speedgates with 900mm high glass barriers were installed, integrating with other features including a glass and steel barrier and a glass display area for a mid-century Morris service van.

The bi-directional glass barriers are designed to work in a ‘normally closed’ mode and swing open after an access card is been presented, allowing the authorised user to pass easily even when carrying luggage or baggage.

These barriers are designed to close quickly behind the authorised person to deter tailgaters whilst infra-red sensors monitor the lane to detect unauthorised entry and ensure the safety of users.
